Text to Self

Wallflower: any person, organization, etc., that remains on or has been forced to the sidelines of any activity.

In the story, Charlie is an average freshman dealing with the new world of high school, trying to find new friends and where to fit in. Charlie goes to a football game and meets Patrick and Sam who are seniors. Through out the book Charlie is introduced to new things, like partying, drinking, smoking, intimate relationships, and how they affect him personally. The same thing is true in life. Freshmen want to venture out and do new things, get a taste of the world in various ways. Good or bad. But these things lead up to our future. If we pick certain paths and habits that are not positive to our lives, it could lead us down hill. Yes there are many choices that are positive and help us reach our goal but you need to be careful. You need to make the decision for a lifetime. Not temporary. For example if fame is something you want to chase after, and you make it, sure it's great for sometime. After a while, your name is worn out, you've been out there, new fresh people coming in doing new things. You eventually loose the publicity and attention. You need to make choices that help you pursue a life career.

You need the support of loved ones. Charlie found friends that he could be happy around. Even though he didn't say much, his friends knew he could trust him with anything.

Most importantly is yourself. You need to believe that you can do anything.  Anything is possible when you put your heart and mind towards it.
